You’re Not Alone

Jul-6-2009 By admin

Way back when I was young, I started focusing on all the times when I had friends and family around. Seriously, I was surrounded. I was never alone for very long. I never met a stranger, everyone was my friend.

My kids used to take bets about how many seconds we’d be in a new place before I’d made a new friend, and often, found someone I already knew before I walked in, although we were far from home. Once it was a McDonald’s about halfway between home and where I grew up, and the person we “ran into” was my cousin.

The point is, I’m never alone for long. This point has literally been drilled home this past several months, as I fight the battle of a community desiring control of our personal property. Neighbors have come out of the woodwork, family and friends are counting in the thousands, and life has been a bit more complicated, but I’m NOT alone.

The reality is, the community doesn’t want MY property, but rather the property of others in the community in their control, so they spend their time harrassingĀ  various members of the community. Most often via tickets and harassment of property code management. Is it working? Of course, it works sometimes. Not everyone in town can fight that kind of battle. But there are others who can.

I want them to know they’re not alone.

If you’re standing against government, in your hometown, consider this Hometown Blog or this column, You Are Not Alone. Either one should give you a boost of encouragement. Leave me a message, I’ll get back to you.
