Midnight Blogging —

Jan-9-2009 By admin

You know there will be those times when no matter how well you plan, you’re still up at midnight writing on your blog, washing laundry or holding a sick child. Those are the times when you’ll want to hang onto the core values you’ve tucked away inside your heart.

Sharing my inner most thoughts at midnight is like realizing life takes a hit at sunrise. It really does – the moon’s no longer visible, stars stop glowing and the sun takes over the sky. Your thoughts at midnight often veer into unknown and occasionally undesirable territory.

This morning I attended the funeral of a friend. Not just any friend, but a friend in Christ. Her life was tattered like the rest of us, she wasn’t perfect, but she stood steadfast on the principles she believed. Her skills in organizing and keeping a home were second to none, and yet, her home wasn’t a palace in the upper end of town, but a simple home on the outskirts of town where kids could play and dogs could bark without the neighbors complaining. Her home was always open to family and friends.

When I think of friends who have come and gone from my life there are many who stand out. Some have been outstanding friends, persons with lives that appeared to be perfect, and yet… when you look close, their lives were blemished in the same way as mine. Their hearts may have been in the right place, but honestly… they weren’t on the same page as their heart in every step they took.

That’s what midnight blogging is all about. It’s that time when you rethink your values, look over your purpose and review your personal thoughts. Usually, you’ll come to the same conclusion I’ve come to, tonight. Life isn’t what you’re given, it’s what you make of what you’ve got. It’s about being the best person you can be and living well with the hand of cards you’re dealt.

You don’t have to be perfect to be noticed, loved or appreciated. Every person has a different purpose. Consider that for a moment and find yours. It will come to you.

  1. Lori Lander Said,

I could not agree more! When I sit down to blog it is usually at night. Nighttime is the perfect time in my opinion to gather your thoughts from the day, relax and regroup!
